Our history



Bodegas El Lomo began its journey in 1989 as part of the deep respect of Mr. Félix Rodríguez for this land and his dream of producing a quality wine from Canarian varietals in a valley with an ancient winemaking tradition: Tegueste.

During all these years a clear goal has been pursued that was to put in value the production of great Canarian wines from the Canary Islands and in this endeavor a reference brand has been built within the sector.

At the same time, the world of wine has been developing exponentially in all areas from the production to the presentation of wines, all aimed at responding to an ever-widening, diverse and demanding set of consumers that has been setting the pattern of innovation as an indispensable requirement for the competitiveness of the brand.


Bodegas El Lomo took the baton and raised, last 2017, a profound reinterpretation of the brand that reached all areas of the company;  from the soul of our wines, with the incorporation of one of the most recognized winemakers in the world Alberto González Plasencia (awarded as the second best winemaker Spain and the tenth worldwide in the Master Wine Challenge in 2015) passing through a totally renewed image and a deep review of the business model that shows as as the most visible exponent in the concentration of its distribution in the hands of Excelsia Canarias Vinos y Destilados from Bodegas Torres Group.

These would be the main milestones that are necessarily accompanied by many more aimed at consolidating a key brand in the history of the wine sector in the Canary archipelago.

All this sets the path for Bodegas El Lomo to set a new era and opens up what we consider: Bodegas El Lomo ACTO II.
